Useful news. Sources you can check.
TopHand News brings Texas ranching headlines and county information together. We link to the original reporting and keep the source and date beside the information.
Our coverage
Livestock markets, drought and weather, animal health, land and water, policy, and ranch life. Texas sources lead the feed. National cattle coverage is labeled with its wider geographic scope.
Where the headlines come from
The feed checks seven public publisher feeds using saved source intervals, initially every 15 minutes when requested. Our source register shows the actual schedule, URLs and last successful checks. Unavailable sources retain dated headlines for up to 60 days and are labeled below. It does not reproduce full articles or imply that TopHand reported them. Selected stories have short TopHand explanations with checked facts and a full-source link. New summaries wait for editorial review. Last collection: .

How we handle accuracy
- Publication dates come from the publisher. Collection dates describe when we checked.
- County tags require an explicit county mention. A statewide story is not automatically a local observation.
- Missing and outdated map data are labeled. Missing is never treated as zero.
- Sale receipts, market prices, cattle inventory, and carrying capacity are different measures.
- Disease response zones do not equal confirmed animal detections. Armyworm advice does not establish a county infestation.
- Courthouse photos show their source and license. Generated ranchland artwork is marked as an illustration.
News, opinion, and updates
Headlines remain attributed to their publishers, including industry associations. Read the original article for its evidence and point of view. Feed collection uses relevance rules and removes repeated URLs and identical headlines; it does not certify every publisher claim.
Corrections and source problems
If an original publisher corrects a report, the next successful source refresh updates its headline metadata. For a disputed underlying claim, follow the publisher link and use its correction channel. Map records retain source dates and links so you can verify the original.
Public data and AI agents
Use our public data index, RSS feed, JSON feed, and agent guide. Keep original source links, units, dates, and coverage when citing data. Our summaries and derived county measures are not official agency determinations.

Saved stories and your chosen county are stored in this browser. They do not require an account. Sharing opens your device’s share sheet or copies the summary link when a TopHand summary is available, or the original story link otherwise.
